Can I install 3/4" Hardwood Flooring and the Aquabar "B" Barrier Paper over a subfloor that has been treated with Thompson's water sealer?
Thank you for any responses.

Have to ask why was the subfloor sealed? If there is a moisture problem underneath thompsons isnt going to fix it. The subfloor m/c needs to be within two or three points of the wood floor.

I was doing it because I have the type of personality that goes way overboard when doing projects :) . My thought is what if a toilet overflows, or a window is left open durring a rain storm or any scenario, to keep water from soaking into the subfloor and causing other issues like mold etc. , again this way overboard, but wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any issues if the subfloor couln't breath as per say. This is on the second floor and there are no moisture problems at all in the house.

Those type topical sealers for wood and concrete do absolutely nothing to protect moisture vapors from coming through from underneath.

Thank you for your response. With me being over analytical sometimes, it was making me wonder. :)

Sounds like many of the clients I get to deal with daily? Just kidding. I agree, I do not see this being an issue either.

It really doesnt matter, most all subfloors were sealed when the decking was completed just in case it rained prior to installing the roof ( two days before the dancing girls show up ). I think a seccond application could spell trouble....if it was reccomended, it would be in the installation literature
