I am trying to confirm what the species of wood this is. The white wood is unfinished. I believe it is maple, but can someone on here confirm? The wood is a very white color, and I have confirmed that it is not white oak. (I bought white oak, and white oak definitely is much more brown than these unfinished pieces.

Looks like ash to me. It has a grain like oak.

Pete, does unfinished Ash have a brown tint to it at all? The raw wood samples I have are very white.

Ash is very light, but the heartwood does have a brown color. If you look at the end grain you may be able to tell if your samples are from the outside of a tree by how the grain curves in the growth rings and any color change.
