New guy here. This house was built in 1899. Is this antique heart pine? If so, is it stained or has the wood darkened naturally over time?

Difficult to say, but I'll guess it's old growth (after 1900 or therabouts). What characterizes real antique heart pine? Tight growth rings and absence of knots. Is it easy to dent? More like it's aged and not stained.

Thanks, Ken. After sanding, it looks like the floors are a mix of heart wood and yellow pine. The house is a small craftsman bungalow. I guess back then even low-end construction used better materials overall.
