Thinking seriously about laying a wideplank plywood floor in our home. We have a very limited budget and thought this might be a good option. Anyone here ever do anything like this? I have a bunch of questions about what tools I will need (I can rent) and how to finish. I may try to get a pickling effect and want a clear coat that won't yellow but will wear well. Thanks:)

I've seen a few posts like your come through here.

I think the hardest thing might be ripping the strips perfectly straight. Then you'd most likely have to glue them down, full spread to keep them flat. Then the splintered edges. Manufactures bevel the edges for multiple reasons. Guess you could hand sand them. Water base.

Thank you for your reply. It's all over Pinterest. My main concern is that if I do some kind of light translucent color over them, that the boards don't yellow as it would be very noticeable on light wood. Is there a particular brand that you prefer?
