Hello All,

I am new to this board, but I thought it would be pretty useful to join since I plan on doing quite a bit of woodwork here in the near future

My husband & I are wanting to install false treads onto our stairs.

I do not want to put nosing along the entire stair tread - I would like to notch out the stair tread so that the nosing on the false tread doesn't show.

Any ideas how/where to notch on the tread? We actually have pulled up the old treads, and have cut new ones to notch...the old ones had some smelly issues from the previous owners cats that had sprayed
