We installed wide plank, white oak floors in April 2016 during a remodel project in Manhattan. The floors were finished in June. The flooring was in the apartment for several days, maybe even weeks before being installed. We moved into the apartment in September and the floors never looked quite right. They are now gapping and bowing. Many areas where there are gaps are showing jagged putty separation. I now have 3 different opinions on what went wrong. The original installer claims nothing is wrong. The on that just left says I should rip them up and start over...

On top of this, the floors, finished with Bona Traffic, are very fragile. We are a shoe free household, but the floors mark so easily it is making it hard to enjoy them.

It's the dry season with winter heat. Hardwood floors gap because they lose moisture. I'm sure the solution is upping the relative humidity in the apartment. Humidifiers can do the trick.
