Hi all, just moved my refrigerator in preparation for reflooring my kitchen. The vinyl under where the compressor resides was VERY dicolored from the exhaust heat being put out.. I put a temperature probe underneath it and measured >100 deg F, with a RH in the mid 30's...not sure if these temps are normal or not.

Since I'll be installing 5/8" bamboo, I'm worried about damage, such as splitting, etc. Does anybody have any experience with this? Advice?

Thanks,
Pete

I am not a hardwood installer, but here is my experience:

We had site finished oak installed throughout a slab based condo unit. Four years later, we moved. The refrigerator was never slid out of place until time for the big cleaning prior to putting the unit up for sale.

Other than some massive dust and grime, there appeared to be no damage to the floor beneath the refrigerator.

If there was damage, the only time it would matter would be if a renovation were to be done that would involve moving the fridge and not placing some cabinetry in it's place to cover the same spot.

I'm not seeing the problem??? If the fridge hides it, and always will it is only there to keep the fridge at the same height, for easy removal.
