Hello.
I would like to buy the best moisture meter that will last.
What do you use?

Regards Rafal

Who has the best prices for Tramex meters? Also, I am considering getting one for concrete and notice Tramex has the Concrete Encounter 4 and Moisture Encounter Plus (non destructive). Would the Moisture Encounter Plus be as accurite on concrete as the Concrete Encounter? It's ability to read various surfaces makes it a more useful meter, yes? I already have a wood pin style moisture meter.

Gary,
The Moisture Encounter Plus can read concrete and it is fairly accurate but as I understand it Tramex do not stand behind its concrete measurements. I use it for concrete readings and if they are borderline I do a Calcium Chloride test. It is really only a concern on borderline measurements. If you want exact and precise measurements that Tramex will stand behind then you must splurge for the concrete meter. That being said the only allowable evidence in a court is a CC test (at least here) so if you are that close Tramex may stand behind the reading off of the concrete meter but you will not be able to submit it as evidence in court so my feeling is that the Moisture Encounter Plus is adequate for testing for in range and then use a CC to CYA on borderline jobs.

Thanks man. I've been doing the CC tests when needed but I had a rep from Sika tell me that all they use is the Tramex for guidelines and don't even have any recommendations for CC testing.
