Per the various discussions I viewed on this board, I decided on Bona Traffic to finish my newly installed red oak floor ( 2 1/4 wide, 3/4 thick ). My situation has us needing all of the benefits of this product and, other than the misleading statement "FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY", it is living up to it's claims. No harsh fumes. Dries fast. I hope it's as durable as it is touted to be.
I used the Bona Sealer first, followed by 3 coats of Traffic.
It was extremely helpful that you pointed out how hard it is to put this down at 350-400 sq ft per gallon. I ended up at 2 liters for 250 square feet. I would have wasted a lot of this stuff if I didn't see your posts and simply followed the instructions on the bottle.
This board has been a great help even while planning out the nailing ( in the other forum ). I've installed and finished another floor in my house ( a 12X14 Den ), but, this task required a bit more thought to have something that will stand up to kitchen traffic.
Thanks again for taking the time to help us DIYs stay on track.
