I am planning on installing a floating floor, because my floor is gypcrete and I don't feel confident gluing on gypcrete.

I was planning on using Tarkett Brand Longstrip. The boards are 7 1/2" wide and 8 feet long, 5/8" thick.

Is this a good brand, and is the wide boards better for floating than narrower boards. I am looking at the Brazilian Cherry. What is a good price?

Thanks,

Joe

I would go with the wider personallly, less time to install is always a good thing. On the tarkett brand it at one time was highly sought after product with a good rep. People say it went downhill for a few years but now I think they have changed a few things around internally and have got there stuff back together again. If you are comparing long strip you should consider the khars as an additional option.

Tarkett longstrip is good stuff. Not many complaints. The complaints we see are usually lack of expansion gapping.
