I'm scheduling to install this as a floating floor. 1000 SF total with one room being 16'x34'. This is the first hardwood floating floor I've done so I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row so to speak. I've looked online, read Tarkett's instructions, and talked to a few installers in the area.
I've recieved mixed reviews on this line. Some say it's an exceptional floor, some say it's a bear to install, some say they have good and bad products. So I'm looking for opinions here on the Artisan Plank.

Also, in all the lit I've read, I see no mention of using straps to hold the floor tight while the glue sets. Is this not neccessary or, worse, not recommended? Is there such a thing as too tight?

From now till start I can get whatever special tools needed so if clamps are advised I'll get them.

Thanks,
Don

I have never seen a craftsman glue anything together and not use a clamp. From picture frames to laminated beams.

Always use strap clamps when doing a glue together floater!

Thanks Perry, I figured so. You have a preference on a brand. Or is there a brand you know of NOT to use?

Also, does the manufacturer's glue go as far as they say? Tarketts glue say one bottle does 100 ft. I have 11 bottles for 1023 ft.

I always end up with some glue left over, but 100 sq.ft per bottle is close.

I have 12 Crain straps, with extension straps, and suction cups. I like them.

Bullet Tools has some nice strap clamps.
