Hello Everybody,

I am going to be installing plank hardwood floors and I am more than positive that I have conceret as a subfloor. Now when I lay down the new floor, I do not know what to have as my subfloor. I know that I can have a floating floor but I would feel more secure with my new floors nailed to the subfloor. So if I do have conceret what do you suggest I lay down over the conceret? Also, kind of a dumb question but after I lat down the new floor, the trim piece is normally how long? Would I have to have two trim piece connecting to go from wall to wall? I am just worried that if I have two trim pieces together that the seem of the pieces will be noticable.

Thank You

If you want to nail a floor down, you need to have something to nail it to. Therefore, you will need a 3/4" plywood subfloor properly installed over the concrete. The key word here is PROPERLY. This type of installation is best left to a professional.

I don't have any idea what you're talking about. Are you refering to the baseboards or door casings?
