So I read just about every post here on Strand Bamboo installation 5/8" over 3/4 plywood. From what I can see staples are out with the strand stuff

The manufacture recommends 18-20 cleats for the installation.

I'm leaning towards the 20 gauge 1 1/2 cleat to try to avoid the pimping I've read about

Does anyone have experience with the Powernail 200? It seems like it would be the weapon of choice unless someone else has a suggestion.

Thanks!

the 200 will only nail 5/16 to 1/2" floors for 5/8" id go with the flex 50p. ITs way more comfortable of a nailer it does shoot 18g cleats but if seated correctly its exactly what you need for the job. THe pimples are from 16g cleats most often on 1/2" floors.

I've seen that nailer also.

I've read that the powerman 200 is easily shimmed to accommodate 5/8" wood.

But if your saying I'll be pimple free (with the proper air pressure...setup ect.) with the 18 gauge nailer I'll certainly consider it.

I though the Powernail 200 looked a little awkword...I'll be doing about 1200 SQ so it's probably something that would interest me
