I just had put in roughly 3,300sf of solid Brazilian Chery on slab (tar paper/plywood/tar paper nailed to slab and hardwood nailed to it) in Tampa, FL. The installer left penny width seams, as he explained for expansion of the wood. His finisher then used some sort of filler for gaps and finished the floor with satin finish (3 coats).
Now that we have moved in we have noticed a dramatic amount of clear rubber like sticky substance that is lifting from between the seams in small round shapes and is smearing all over the floor and is very hard to get off. It is literally all over the place and is very frustrating considering how much money we spent of the floors. The installer/finisher it telling us it is normal for that to happen in the winter time as there is a temperature difference between the slab and the room.
Can someone confirm or deny that this is something normal and suggest any cleaning agents to get it off. Also, what exactly is it?
Also on the separate note, I am not sure what top coat was used but the floor (top finish) seems to scratch very easily. Any suggestions?
Thank you for all of your input and suggestions!
