Hey all,

So I've succeeded in laying the floor on my stairs. Whew! God bless you guys who do this every day. That was way harder than flooring the Hallway of the Sixteen Doorjambs, which is the hardest 50 square feet of flooring I've ever laid.

I have two small questions:

1) I'm going to float the floor in the living room at the top of the stairs over cork. Just confirming that I need to put a moisture barrier under the cork?

2) The piece of nosing at the top of the stairs has a teensy crack over the groove. I'm assuming that now that the glue has cured, I should just put a little glue in there and let it go? There's a part of me that really wants to rip it up and put a new piece of nosing there.

A moisture barrier under the cork is not necessary. This will actually make the floor not feel as solid. The cork as underlay will work out just fine.
