That's a tough one. Can you grind the 1/4x1/4 square down an 1/8" ? Their all too much glue except the 3/32, and that's kinda small.

dont have a grinder.. I went to lowes and home depot and couldnt find one.

I always use a 3/16 x 3/16 square notch. :mrgreen:

I just use the tubes. Whether on existing treads or stringers.

You may have a tough time finding an 1/8 x 1/4 x1/4 around town. It's no problem finding one at a local hardwood flooring distributor,( to the trade), that carries Bostik. You can go with something similar like what SP mentioned, (3/16 x3/16 square). Or even a 3/16 x 5/32 v notch. You'll still get the desired contact with those sizes, 1/4 x 1/4 is just way too much glue.
