Should the stair tread return overhang the end of the tread the same amount that the stair tread nosing overhangs the riser? Also, how far should the tread return extend past the riser?
My tread nosings will overhang the risers by approximately 1 inch.

in a perfect world yes..11/8" overhang all around..1" is fine
