My installer bailed on me..(how do I attach a picture). Can someone tell me how to or what would be the best fix for my problem. We installed laminate flooring which butts up to my oak riser (top step and floor meets), what can I put or use to blend the floor in with riser or vice versa, e.g. stair nose molding, quarter round anything to complete my look? See yellow box...

Thanks in advance

Nosing with same profile as the rest of the steps. It will have the same thickness as the laminate flooring so the overhang of the nosing will have to be thicker to provide adequate support as this is a high stress area. The overhang length should be such that the run of the first step is code compliant with the runs of the other steps (I assume there are more steps than what is shown in the picture).

13 steps total...in my search, I found stair nosing that matched my laminate flooring as well as stair nosing (red oak) that matches my stair tread and riser...I was thinking my top stairs nosing should match the laminate since it was butting up against it. Or, am I wrong in this assessment? I don't see the oak tread blending in or coordinating (butting) up against the laminate for a transitioned match. Please advise.

What will be the better look?

Same as my laminate: option 1

Same as my stair tread & riser: option 2
