I just had my bamboo floors installed and I'm looking for any metal (preferably stainless or similar) t-molding..

Maybe I'll have to have it custom made, but if any of you have seen anything like that out there, let me know..

Thanks!

How wide do they need to be and how thick is the flooring?

the epoxy stone is 1/2 in thick
the wood is 5/8 in thick

so that means there is a 1/8 in height difference

the gap between the two floors is 5/8 in but i can cut the wood to increase that gap if needed

the transition piece needs to be 37 1/8 in wide/long

here's a makeshift sketch of what I have in mind..

anything similar will be fine though, i just really dont want wood and i dont want anything that has too much of a profile.. i don't like the bump in the floor look

thanks!

If you can find a bamboo with this profile, it will work, and doesn't "hump" up

Would a reducer work here??

Metal next to bamboo ?? not a good look, but maybe simply reduce it down so there is a small ramp may work..

a reducer is simply a trim that is shaped like a sidways "V". It is ramped on the top. So the higher side ramps down to the lower side.
Perry is good with photos, maybe he can put a photo up of a reducer..

Wait............. there is only a 1/8" difference? Not enough for a reducer as the reducer would be too thin... Sorry..

Did you ever find metal T mold? We are having the same problem - we do not like the bump in the wood T molds and were told you can get metal/flat t-mold. I can't find any anywhere.

What you want is standard "flat bar". It's commonly used at doorways where vinyl floors terminate. Most hardware stores carry it. It does not need a leg to form a "T". So you do not need a T-molding but simply flat bar. It's available in gold tone and silver and sometimes, in bronze
