Has anyone out there stained Brazilian Cherry before?

Does anyone know if staining halts the oxidation process and keeps it from getting darker? (Since BC is known to darken quite dramatically.)

If you have stained BC did you stain it to the color you ultimately wanted or did you plan on it darkening some and stained it a little lighter than you wanted the final look to be?

We have a floor that has more color variation than we want and want to even it out. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks!!

I've stained thousands of feet of it with a Rosewood mix. Havne't been back to look in years. If you were to visit most of the Macy's stores in Nor Cal and look at the herringbone patterns in the isles, you could see....I've been meaning to go myself.
Someone should know if stain helps slow the darkening...

Marco,

Do you remember the formula you used to get the Rosewood mix? What product line was it? Heck, I've got to start somewhere it might as well be with a color that was tried and true!

Thanks!
Jamie

P.S.

Just curious as to why you stained it instead of going natural?

It was a Dura Seal Rosewood/Neutral mix, I don't remember what, fairly light, maybe 4:1 neutral.
It was stained because thats what the Macys architect/designer spec'ed.
