I've finished about 140 sq/ft 5/8" x 5" random length Brazil Cherry engineered floor on concrete with vapor barrier plus pad.

I used strap clamp to " tighten" each row of the 5" floor, glue oozed out to the top.

When I stand on some spot it squeaks.

My question: 1.Do I tighten to much which may pop the floor up a little bit ?
2. The floor is not flat enough?
3. Too much glue ?
Do I have to redo the floor or live with the squeaky floor?

Thanks in adavnce.

It may ease up as time passes. Movement causes noises. The substrate may not be perfect.

The noise is doe to EXCESSIVE deflection/movement.

Nothing you can do at this point but remove areas and fill the low spots in the concrete surface.

I feel like the squeaking is because of some low areas underneath the flooring. At this point I would isolate the affected areas and try one of those injector kits made for glue down floors. If that area is hollow the injector should penetrate the wood and padding and fill in some "underneath" the padding so the wood is not locked down. Might be worth a try.

Either that or somehow lever the flooring up so you might could slide some felt in there.

Thanks all for the informations.

In recent days, it seems the floor becoming less squeaky.

may be it's due to the floor "settle down" a little bit?
