The majority of 1100 sq. ft. of hickory I am putting down is in a room that is 32 ft. x 28ft. Where should I start?

a. Measure from the far wall in the corners and work from wall to wall?

b. Measure from the both corners of both walls and start in the middle using a spline and work my way toward both walls.

If you have a doorway for basement steps I would take a measurement from them , and transfer it to the middle of the room as Flooguy sugests .. You dont want to come up to the step and have to cut a inch or so off the stair nose ..
