Hi, any experts in spot treating a wood floor? I spilled cologne on the floor and the solvents in it left a round spot in the finish. Any ideas? The floor is red oak with a satin stain. In the past I have lightly sanded and re applied finish but it never looks good. Do I just live with it? The spot is about the size of a dime.

Is the floor stained with a colored stain? or is it the Natural color?
Clear nail polish would seal a Natural floor. Stained floors may be touched up with a colored felt tip pen, then sealed with nail polish. To get the same shine over the whole floor you will need to apply a coat of finish.
