 Post subject: Spacing between planks when using short boards.

Location: Ann Arbor, MI.
Greetings all.

Looking for any advice the users could provide on the general rule when using short boards in the middle of a floor. How close do you allow the linked joint connecting two boards in a row to the ones next to it, as a general rule of thumb?

I've been trying to stay at 6" apart or more until I find out another answer.

That is the correct amount. 6" is the minimum distance between end butts from one row to another.
