Hi,
I'm new here and wanted to ask a question to see what you think.
I'm a photographer in the process of building a new studio in a 102 year old building in Pittsburgh. Take a look at the site and you can see what we are working with.
www.SteelGateStudio.com
The part of the floor near the windows will be brick laid like a patio and the wood will be the rest of the floor (about 1400 sq ft).
One of my many questions is what would you suggest for laying the floor? "Sleeper on slab" seems to be what some articles suggest but I would be very interested in your thoughts. The floor is fairly flat with a slight slope to the drains. If you lay a straight edge 8' long the typical deviation is around 1/8".
It's a DIY project and I have a good supply of tools and a reasonable amount of experience with wood and construction but never have done a floor.
Thanks in advance for your interest.
Alex
