Sorry if this topic has been discussed before - I plan on installing solid hardwood floors (nail down method) and need soundproofing underlayment that would provide STC / IIC ratings of 65+. This is for an apartment within a NYC co-op building. I have found online that cork is recommended; but have had conflicting reports on how to successfully install with a nailed solid hardwood. Does anyone have any experience?

No need to fasten the cork down.

1/4" cork will work..not sure of the rating but im sure it will qualify.

Homasote will definitely qualify.
