Hello

I am in the process of getting my hardwood installed on my first floor. However, a quick question on the install process

As per the dealer,
1) Have a moisture barrier on the subfloor (Aquabar)
2) Cleats and use adhesive to install the floor.

My installer thinks otherwise, he is of the opinion that only cleats should be used since the adhesive is not touching the subfloor anyway.

But then a question, shouldn;t the adhesive be in contact with the subfloor ?what do I do with the moisture barrrier (Aquabar). Should the adhesive go on top of the moisture barrier ? We are located on the East coast, if that may help guide the conversation.

Thank you for all your help.
