Hi all,
For the last month, my father in-law and I have been installing 3/4 red oak throughout my 2300sqft house (a weekend at a time). The house is a split level so three quarters of it is on a raised plywood subfloor and a quarter of it is on a slab. We're just about done with the nail down portion of the job and getting ready to move to the slab.
We ended up going with 3/8 for the slab areas to hopefully keep the transitions as clean as possible.
Onto my question. When we bought the flooring in December we were told by lumber liquidators that the best way to install on the slab would be to use one of the "All in one" glues that are no available. I believe LL carries the Bostic brand. So no need for a moisture barrier, just use the all in one glue.
I know these glues haven't been out for that long, so I guess my question is if that is really a sound way to go? My Dad in law and I are both very DIY savvy, but neither of us have any experience with glue down applications.
If these "all in ones" are legit, is there a particular brand that is well trusted these days?
I live in Southern California so hopefully moisture isnt as big of a concern.
Appreciate everyone feedback!
