I live on a cement slab and want have purchased a 7/16 solid Amendoim to go on it. My installer wants to do it as follows:

Bostics best adhesive directly on concrete
followed by 3/4 cdx plywood
Followed by 15 felt
Followed by naildown 7/16 and 2 5/8 strip solid flooring.

I never heard of this. I searched 1000s of websites The manufacture wants a 6 mil film used ontop of the concrete or Bostics mvp. The slab was dry even after tons of rain here in Southern california and is on grade. Does this type of install make sense?

Find another installer!!

You need Bostiks MVP, and let it sit overnite. This is a moisture blocker.

Then use Bostiks Best Adhesive.

If this is BR-111, Only Use their Strate-stuff adhesive and sealer system!!

Any installer worth a grain of salt is backlogged, as you have found out.

If someone can start on it tomorrow, it makes you wonder.

I got swampped, starting in May, when everyone started getting their IRS return checks.

I'm booked till August.

You may just have to wait for quality, and that doesn't mean the cheapest quote, or availability.

oh this one is swamped too as I have been waiting a month for him. He is a member of some important hardwood counsil so I thought that was cool. It is br111 and for your info they stopped making their brand of moisture barrier and glue as it was not a money maker.

Anyway to clarify what you would do, you would do
Mvp on concrete
24 hours later bostics best to glue plywood
then felt, then nail hardwood?

I did question him as all the website I see use 6 mil poly or a product like Mvp but he claimed he called br111 and they said ok.

btw I have had the floor since november last year. :(
