I am trying to figure out what type of wood KONA is. I've looked it up and can find nothing on it. The flooring is by armstrong and it is called....solid kona coconut brown. If anyone has any ideas about the hardness rating also that would be helpful!!!

Are you sure it is not Koa? That is a wood from Hawaii. I'm thinking the term "Kona" is not a common or botanical species name but merely a marketing name. Call Armstrong Corporate and ask their tech. dept.

Yeah, real Koa is so expensive I doubt anyone could afford a floor out of it. Besides I think the stuff is pretty hard to find.
I'm drinking my Kona right now.
