I am replacing wood ballusters on my curved staircase with iron. I will also have the contractor pull the carpet back about 8" and replace with false stair treads and risers. I am keeping the carpet on the center of the stairs for safety (we have young children) and I just like the look. My question is if I can obtain pre-finished false tread and risers? The stair contractor installing the iron ballusters will put in unfinshed and I would have to hire another contractor to come out and finish the hardwood. I have Brazillian Cherry throughout my home and wanted to use that for the false ends and risers as well. Any comments, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I do all the sanding, staining and clear coats before anything is cut on a job. That goes for railings, balusters, treads and risers. It works out much better that way. After everything is in I apply he final wear coat.
