Hello thanks for the forum.
I'm installing a 3/8" engineered hardwood floor in my basement, and I don't like the noise it's making after I walk on it. They are four foot max pieces. It sounds like rice crispies for the first few minutes I walk around on it. I saw a youtube video where the guy says this will go away after some time, but I'm skeptical.
It's floated on top of a vapor barrier underlayment pad, which is installed on top of Drycore OSB panels. The floor is beautiful going down, but I'm considering pulling up the portion I've installed and going back with 1/4" underlayment and staples. Lots more work, but I'm expecting a more solid installation. Anyone had luck doing this?
