We've just had new hardwood installed and the company mistakenly installed hand-scraped flooring. We're debating different options, one is to consider sanding down the hand-scraped flooring to achieve the regular "flat" look of conventional hardwood floor. Is this possible in first place? If so - are there any concerns about the "refinish ability" of the floor in the future?

It can be sanded but will take some work and qualifications.

IS it solid wood? if not it will need a pretty heavy wear layer to be able to take the scraping out and not burn through the veneer.
