Good Afternoon,

I recently installed stapled engineered flooring in a new home. All humidity levels are fine and the product was acclimatized for 2 weeks. There are two spots that have a slight popping sounds - and when I say slight I mean you can barely hear it - and it only happens occasionally. Its 1000 sq ft and looks beautiful. In all my years of installing hardwood I have never had a customer pick out something that seems to minor so I'm not quite sure as to what to do.

Your thoughts are really appreciated!

From what im hearing it can be a couple of reasons why this is happening. From my experience either under those to boards or in that area there is a slight dip, which is causing it to pop due to an un even sub floor, or sometimes laminate the top layer might look like its backed on tight but it could be a manufactures defect. I think the best way to fix it with no sound is get yourself the DRY-TAC repair kit for glue down installs. It comes with a syringe and you can put some glue in it through the top. It will fill in whatever dips there are in the sub-floor. Of course this is only for a minor popping noise like you said. you cant fix a sub-floor with anything that dips more than 1/4 inch or the glue will seep through the wood. Sorry its a little late I might be babbling at this point. If you need to know anything about installing Hardwood, glue down or anything flooring just let me know. Oh by the way this is my first post. I'm new here. HI EVERYONE.
