Throw us in the glue bucket, Ken!

I agree to disagree, but there's something about leaving a fellow Texan, for the coyotes to eat, that just doesn't sit well in my stomach.
I tried to save him, the good lord knows I did.

Hey, I like that one..anybody have any other names or ideas? Looks like we need one of those private forums.

We could also use a hostess too. Like the http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/index.php forum

William, you need to ask Bostik's about their MVP.

They recommend using it over possible wet slabs, before you use any of their adhesives. Especially BEST, BST, EFA, Ultra-Set, or Fast-Tack adhesives.

Just like my price sheets, I don't use one from 2 years ago, I revise them quite often. Bostik's revises their specs, too. Why would they produce MVP, if BEST was a moisture proof barrier?

Bostiks have never warranted their adhesive as a moisture barrier, they just say you can glue down solid wood with it and its up to you to solve any moisture problems.

That is some badly cupped wood Perry. Is it several pictures of the same job, or of several jobs. I was also curious about your statement about 85% of the jobs you see... How long have you been inspecting? How many jobs have you seen. Not trying to pick on you, but lets keep it on the up and up. I was under the impression that you are somewhat new to inspecting as a profession.

I have been a Certified carpet inspector going on 2 years now. For 15 years I did inspections for the retailers I subbed from, as I always became the warranty/repair/troubleshooter guy for every retailer I ever worked for. I did not become NWFA Certified until this spring.

Yes, I see a lot of thin solid woods, especially since we had record rain fall this year, and the concrete slabs soak it up. The engineered's are rarely effected enough to call in a claim, at least not for cupping, or buckling. Raised/peaked ends and popped/raised grain, are what I see with wet engineered, although not always. When I get called to look at an engineered, the claim is usually adhesive failure, when I find it is actually lack of a flat substrate(big or numerous hollow spots).
