I am about to install prefinsihed Braz Cherry with the MIIIFS and just wandering if I shoud purchase the $90 prefinished foot kit for the stapler. I have heard a couple of good things about it on here so I looked into it.

Basically I don't want to damage my floor. However, if it is not a necessity I really don't want to spend another 80-90 bucks.

Please advise.

I've heard on here that masking tape is sometimes used by the pros to prevent scratches. I have a Porter Cable nailer and that has a plastic foot cover, so I do not have first hand knowledge of the Bostitch units. Sorry.

The Bostitch is a plastic foot also. Do you have any issues with yours scratching prefinished floors?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through putting down about 400 ft2 of prefinished hardwood with the MIIIFS. I've not noticed any problems with scratches, etc. whatsoever on it. This is normal Bruce prefinished oak.

So from my perspective, there's no real point to getting it.
