Hi there,
We have built a new house and would like to install this flooring upstairs. The bedrooms will be easy as we want the boards to run perpendicular to the joists the hallway however would run parallel. The joists are open webed 16" oc clear span 24'. They subfloor is 5/8 plywood glued and screwed. The hallway is 6 ft wide and 24' long. Is it absolutely necessary to brace the floor under the hallway?
