For securing a plywood subfloor to the top of joists I know some professionals use nails and some, screws, and sometimes either in combination with glue. I am wondering whether it is OK to use just liquid nails but no nails or screws. Would that be secure enough? I want to minimize the number of additional holes in the tops of the joists (floor trusses) because they are pretty chewed up. Thanks
Dave

If they are bad enough that you cant drive a nail into or a screw how is it going to hold up your floor. A good time to repair and replace the damaged ones would be when the floor is torn up. You floor joist are the foundation of the floor system, if they are questionable then why poor money into a expensive finished wood floor when you need to fix the structure below.
