First, off thanks for all the great advice on this forum. I've lurked for a while and have learned a lot from everyone on here.

I'm replacing flooring at an exercise studio, and am trying to find solid tongue and groove maple flooring (3/4" thick minimum) that I can float over an existing level floor. It's really important that the top surface be as smooth as possible (no beveled edges). Looking in the $5/sqft range.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for the comments rjh. Sorry for the late reply.

Unlikely you'll find anything you'll be happy with and solid 3/4" hardwoods are rarely floated with a few exceptions like Junckers (clip system) who has a Beech but no Maple, but they're up near the $10 range. There was another one called Noblehouse that had a solid clip style installation system too, but I think they're no longer in business.

Why not Kahrs? They have a good square edge system...no bevels... 5/8" thick

I've heard of American Harlequin. They are a subsidiary of British Harlequin. They have some very nice floors but they are very strict on where they will install their flooring. If the humidity level in the room is too high they will refuse to install flooring for fear of warping. The company I work for supplies the Ballet Barre for the dance studios they install.
