I am installing a new hardwood floor. I am planning on installing a prefinished red oak and have a few questions.

1. Is there some type of sealant that I can use to help protect it?
2. what is the best way to apply it?

I have 2 small dogs that sometimes pee in the house and I am worried about them ruining the wood if the pee soaks into the wood through the seams. Normally we are home so we can clean up spills easily and quickly but if we are at work it may sit for a few hours.

Any ideas?

Ask the flooring manufacture what they recommend and still keeping your warranty intact.
