Hi, I recently saved a hardwood floor from the demo dumpster. There was nothing wrong with it but the entire house was being gutted. So I'd like to use it in my home.

The question I have, the seams have quite a bit of poly seal in them. Any idea the best way to clean this out and make sure that I don't ruin the tongue or alter the widths of the planks so they're inconsistent with each other? Was thinking of some sort of jig with a router bit but open to other ideas..

The wood is Bruce 24, solid. I included a sample pic. Some pieces are much worse than this one.

Thanks

A paint scraper and patience seems to work best, it is fairly labor intensive but works well. We have made jigs and ran through the saw but you run the risk of change the width because of finish on edges of the floors holding jig in different positions thus creating different widths of flooring.

A hand scraper does work best.
