I have just finished installing reclaimed antique heart pine floors and I filled all the nail holes with ebony timbermate filler. (approx. 700 feet)I called a floor finisher to look at sanding and he told me he would have to sand with a drum sander in order to get the black residue from the nail filling out of the wood. I am ok with doing this altho I had hoped they could be sanded by screening so as to not sand out the "character" of the wood. maybe I am worried over nothing and what he is telling me is correct. I am using waterlox for the finish which I will be doing myself. any sugestions or comments will be appreciated.
