Hi
I sanded and stained my hardwood floors (maple on the perimeter with pine in the centre) with a special walnut 224 minwax. Prior to finishing the floors with varnish, i did some more work in the room. It became very dusty from cutting wood and stirring up plaster dust (old style lathe and plaster) I then proceeded to vacuum room very well. I then wiped down floors with a damp rag.
I now notice that areas of the floor have a noticeable haziness. some of the haze looks like a blue / grey color. some of the haze is only noticeable from different angles depending on how the lite catches.
I am not sure if this is from the damp cloth or some plaster dust is trapped in the wood pores. It does not come off by wiping it up. I tried to re-wipe with a damp cloth again and this did not help. it may have worsened the situation...I am not sure.
Do i need to re-sand and re-stain?
Thank you for your time and advice
Dan
