OK, I have checked around and no one locally rents a pneumatic nailer ........ and I really didn't want to use one either.
As far as the manual nailer goes, there is ONE rental that can be found within a reasonable distance and it appears it may be difficult to get on a moments notice.
Therefore, I am looking at hand nailing my small area (72 sq ft) OR purchasing a manual nailer (I am not even going to consider purchasing a pnuematic nailer because of pricing).
There are two manual nailers I have come across that seem very reasonable in price and I may just get one of them ...... but which???? There is the Porta-Nailer 402 and the Bostitch MFN200. The Bostitch doesn't have the ratcheting feature, but does appear to be better built. Is this a needed feature?? In your opinion, which is the better nailer?
If you would like to recommend another great manual nailer in the $200 - $250 price range, please do so!
I want one that will be user friendly and do a great job. I don't want to regret buying something too cheap or flimsy. From reading previous post, it appears hand nailing isn't really recommended. I am assuming this is because a novice simply doesn't have the experience and a nailer overcomes the shortfall.
Thanks again for everyones help!
