I've got a big flooring instal coming up. 1700 feet of red oak.
The space a
Has one main room with a single big hallway, then several alcoves for a dining room an other bedrooms off that.

Is it a bad idea to start my layout on the hallway wall and use a spline to change the direction of my instal into the dining room area (about 3-400 feet of the layout)?
I want yo ensure I get a straight run down the hallway and would be nervous about getting just a tiny bit off if I start on the dining area wall.

no problems I do it all the time. Just make sure the joining rows are down nice and tight. I use both adhesive along with nails on those rows.
