Thes pics came from Phil Locy, Watertown NY area. If I'm not mistaken there were several layers of linoleum over the floor before Phil and his guys turned it into a jewel.

Whew they are beautiful.... Did you stain them? what finish did you use if you don't mind me asking... I'm gearing up to do a vintage kitchen floor and I'd like to get to that classic finish...
Regards
Doug

It took three weeks to sand and finish this 3500 sqft of antique random width pine flooring. Nine coats of paint covered nearly 2500 sq ft. in the living room area there were 2 layers of carpet, three layers of vinyl and two coats of paint. A little over $5000 in abarsives were used. All floors in the house were coated with lenmar oil base 4 coats. When we got to the final room the dining room we started to prep the floor and i dropped a nail set and it went through the floor. I could not believe it a standard nail set went through 1 1/2 in solid pine. We discovered a sistern under a sheet of plywood covered with a tarp that led to the rot of the floor. We replaced the old pine with new 12in heart pine with walnut plugs.
