Well, I'm happy to report that so far, this particular LL flooring called Virginia Mills is working out OK.
I thought is was to be all one length but it turned out to be random lengths, which is a good thing, IMO. The quality is average. There are some weird blond spots occasionally but I've been cutting those out. It's a scraped 1/2" engineered plank. Made from
B. Costata Trautv, commonly called Betula or Asian Birch. I think Naturally Aged or Garrison 11 are better floors but hey, I didn't buy it or spec it. It's 1/2" thick x 5" wide. I'm nailing it down with, believe it or not, my M111 FS using 1.5" staples. It's working well with the 1/2" shoe. Stapling every 5 to 6" and on ends. No squeaks! Very solid. No puckers in the face either. I did some test boards first and adjusted my pressure to about 75 PSI. Milling width wise is ok. Tapping together with my old Award Longstrip tapping block. Works great. Really a pretty easy floor to lay. No problems so far, except for the mediocre demo and prep job done by the GC's laborers. Nothing new there. Anyways, here's a pic of the floor from the LL website except the one I'm doing is darker.
