Hi everyone. I'm in the process of making my own replacement treads to install on my staircase. It's currently carpeted. They're walnut treads. I was going to cover with about 7 or 8 coats of Fabulon and then glue down with PL adhesive to the existing steps. My question is this. Should I coat the under side of the steps with Fabulon as well or will it cause problems with the PL adhering? I was also planning on cutting small grooves on the underside of the step to help with any warpage. What do you guys think of this? Thanks.

It is not necessary to coat the underside of the new treads. I would suggest using at least a few nails with the PL to attach them.
