Can anyone help me with removing a section of T&G strip oak flooring and repairing. The problem I have is the wood flooring above the carrying beam is bubbled higher than the rest of the floor on either side of the beam. I removed one strip and found the plywood underlayment butted together over the carrying beam and one side of the plywood is about a quarter inch above the other butted plywood, thus giving a bubble effect. Can you first tell me how to remove 4 or 5 strips across the width of the room and the best way to solve the different height problem of the butted plywood. I would much rather fix the problem on the floor side rather than trying to lower the floor joists in the basement. Thanks for any help you can give me.
