It makes a difference on my Porter Cable pneumatic.

I don't hit it like a manual nail gun, but I give it a nice solid whack. If I go too lightly, the nail may only sink 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in.

You have to hit it hard enough to depress the plunger Rbose .. :lol: You know the guys i'm talking about if you ever inspected a floor with splintering caused by improper nailing ..
